One of the thing that I love the most for being a blogger is notbecause of the invitation or free food we get but the opportunity to meet and make friends with many awesome people. A while ago AnakJajan visited Seorae Korean Grill at Pantai Indah Kapuk, initially the owners were inviting us to visit their newest outlet at Flavor Bliss, but because PIK is super close to our home we decided to visit this outlet in the end.
Most of you if you have been to Korea you might know already that Seorae is a Korean grill restaurant originating from Korea.
AnakJajan met Astrid and Susan, both of them are the founder of Soerae Indonesia, together with their partner Augie they opened Seorae in Pantai Indah Kapuk last year July 2013. The 2nd outlet at Flavor Bliss is now open and they will soon open more outlets (get ready Bandung!).
Sometimes the little things can be the sweetest don’t you think so? Astrid and Susan, both of them are the sweetest ever!! Did you saw the photo above? They personally printed and prepared welcome tag for us, they even prepared a USB flash disk containing all of the information about Soerae that will be useful for me for writing this post WITH music playlist full of Korean songs and handwritten cards. (Dear Astrid and Susan, if both of you are reading this post, yes I wrote this post while listening to the Korean music from the USB ? )
If you notice the interior inside Soerae, you will find road markings on the floor, so basically it is the idea of bringing the thrill of eating at the roadside just like the usual street BBQ in Korea into the restaurant. Pretty unique isn’t it?
Galmaegisal IDR 84.8k
Galmaegisal or pork skirt meat or sirloin extension is a very special part of meat from pork, each fully grown pig only produces around 250gr of this part. A well marinated and grilled to perfection pork resulting tender yet juicy meat.
Spicy Galmaegisal IDR 89.9k
My favorite would be the spicy one with a lil bit of tangy flavor and spicy kick. The best way to enjoy this part of meat is by dipping the meat in Seorae signature sauce and eat it with onion.
Kimchi Bento Box IDR 54.8k
I love bento, eating my dish inside lunch box always give me the nostalgic feeling. Kimchi fried rice topped with nori seaweed and perfectly cooked sunny side up with melting yolk inside, very tasty and dangerous for me because I almost could’t stop eating it. #AnakNasi ?
Three Musketeer
A huge portion of Samgyeopsal or pork belly marinated with three different types of seasoning: spicy, salty and sweet sauce.
My favorite would be the spicy one, very tender with a lil spicy kick.
Frozen Beer
Cold frozen Bintang beer is the perfect choice to accompany you BBQ meat. Very refreshing!
Bulgabi
Tender,well marinated ribs and grilled to perfection. My oh my, just look at the sexy caramelized burnt part, I’m salivating while writing about it. Taste already good without anything, but you can wrapped it with lettuce along with some vegetables and samjang sauce.
Tteokochi
Most of you might be familiar with tteokbokki rite? The rice cake dish with sweet spicy thick sauce? Well, this one is another unique version of if, skewered bell peppers and tteok wrapped with bacon then glazed with sweet spicy sauce and grilled for a while.
Woosamgyeob IDR 139.8k
Thinly sliced beef belly that has been marinated overnight. The key to bring out maximum juiciness from it is by not over grilled it.Themeat was tender and juicy with well incorporated sweet and savory taste in it.
Overall, tasty BBQ, great frozen beer and a great companion, I couldn’t ask for more ? Let’s Jajan!!
